Jason Witten – Dallas Cowboys

8 06 2009

OK…back to traditional roots for a moment. Thought I would draw somebody who will make us forget all about Terrell Owens. Shocked that so many sportscasters have quickly forgotten his skill.

Colt McCoy Drawing Finally Finished!

11 05 2009

OK…I know, I started this drawing around Christmas time and I just now finished up. Sometimes when I am working on large drawings I have to walk away for a day (or more like in this case) and then come back to it so then I see things that are not in proportion or needs more shading, or I start other projects like sketch cards and get side tracked.

Kinda like the Jason Witten 11″x14″ drawing I started 3 weeks ago. I am working on so much detail (definitely my most detailed piece yet) I have to take a break for a few days. Already have 10 hours in on the Jason drawing and just a little over half way.

I also didn’t want to finish the Colt McCoy drawing before the Fiesta Bowl because everytime I drew someone last year they lost the next game. So I think I am pretty safe now…lol. Enough rambling…on with the drawing!

Cowboys…a fitting end!

1 01 2009

dallasCowboys 6 Eagles 44 philadelphia-eagles-logo

Wow…not much to say, especially positive. No fire what so ever, they didn’t really seem like they cared they where getting pounded.

Probably the best thing that could have happened was to end the season, just wish it wasn’t like that and specially against the Eagles.

Ok…a few observations during the game, Big Dawg Bone or Steak awards.

“Barbie” Carpenter…(Bone) hurt.

Damarcus Ware – (Steak) Hard to get the sack record when the Eagles offense doesn’t have to play much.

Offensive Line – (Bone) Not consistent and allowed to much pressure on Romo, not to mention all the penalties. What a disciplined group…

Special Teams – (Bone) Started the game off by kicking it out of bounds…are you serious!

Bradie James – (Steak) Good sack and showed some fire a few other times…just thought you would jump up more as a vocal leader this game.

Jason Witten – (Steak) For going all out when you caught the ball…especially on the one you dragged a few people with you.

Don’t even feel like writing right now.

A little Eagles Love

Hmmm…nah there still the eagles

Hate to see the season end on your favorite team but it is what this team deserved. They have a lot of things to figure out this off season. Of course the things that are being said over the last few days, from Jerry Jones, tell me the problems are not being properly addressed.

Cowher and Shanahan are now available, but Jones is bent on having Wade change his attitude and get tougher instead of giving him his walking papers. Sounds great on paper but if the players don’t respect him now what makes you think they will respect him next season. Cut your losses and lets move on now instead of underachieving again next year.

Cowboys debacle spoils farewell party

22 12 2008

baltimore_ravens_logoRavens 33 – Cowboys 24dallas

For the 7th time this year game time fell on a day at the fire station. Missed the first few minutes but the city was quiet the rest of the game.

Offense couldn’t get anything going till the last 5 minutes of the game. Who would have thought that the Ravens we get over 30 points. Most of their games they are lucky if the get 14 points.

I am so tired of the lack of enthusiasm and lack of discipline with this team. Bring on Bill Cowher as coach and get some discipline back on this team. Where are the so called leaders on this team…makes me sick watching everyone sit on the bench and act like whoa is me…get up and cheer your team on and get people fired up.

Only time you ever saw Aikman, Emmitt, and Irvin on the bench is if they where looking at the last series pictures and discussing what they could do better next time. Just spare us the drama, lose the next game and lets get on to guys who want to play hard everyday…like the young guys for the Texas Rangers. How bout them Rangers…

Ok…a few observations during the game, Big Dawg Bone or Steak awards.

“Barbie” Carpenter…(Bone) hurt.

Damarcus Ware – (Steak) still a monster.

Offensive Line – (Bone) Not consistent and allowed to much pressure on Romo from a basic defensive set.

Defensive Line – (Steak) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter. Kept Cowboys in the game playing tough and only allowing FG’s.

Defensive Line – (Bone) 4th quarter. Can you say choke…

Ken Hamlin – (Bone) Are your hands and arms broken? You forgot how to wrap up when you tackle and we all know now you can’t catch. You sure Seattle didn’t give you up!

Special Teams – (Bone) Good at times but again gave up to many return yards, especially at the end of the 2nd quarter giving Baltimore good field position for a FG. We also seemed to lose field advantage on every punt.

Tashard Choice – (Steak) Carrying the team and making some good runs against the 2nd best defensive team. Could be 2 steaks, but…see below.

Tashard Choice – (Bone) For dropping a pitch that looked like it would have been a 1st down and continued a well needed drive.

Jason Witten – (Steak) For doing what you do.

Not to many steaks this game.

A little Baltimore Love

Derrick Mason – (Bone) How many times can you lay on the turf and play hurt? Then to top it of one of the announcers called him “heroic” when he caught a touchdown pass. Are you kidding me?

A little TV Love

NFL Network…(3 Bones) Just awful…thought about turning up Babe on the Bone instead of these stooges.

33WB…(Steak) You saved a bunch of people from missing the game due to the bone heads from Dallas and NFL network only seeing dollar figures and putting the game on a channel most people don’t get or care less to get. The good old cable company burys these types of channels in an upper level packages to get every penny out of you. But before 33 WB gets too excited, see below…

33 WB…(Bone, Bone) Your coverage on the “Farewell to Texas Stadium” was to say the least very minor league…you had bleedover talk  from the post game interviews and your announcers half the time didn’t even know they where on the air, and for something so special we missed parts of it because y’all couldn’t afford to have no commercials for 45 minutes.

Just think, JJ just announced Wades not going anywhere…wait could that mean Jones is bringing in a new head coach and Wade will be the defensive coordinator…not! How bout them Rangers!

Cowboys carve up the Seahawks!

1 12 2008

seattle_seahawks_logoSeahawks 9 – Cowboys 34dallas

Another pretty close prediction, except I overestimated Seattle though and said they would score 21 points. (My prediction was Seattle 21 – Dallas 35). I got to enjoy this game with family and good food away from the station.

Game started out with the style of football we like to see, that in your face drives that end in scores.  The offense was really clicking with Romo spreading the love. The defense looked good also with the bend but don’t brake style we have gotten use to this year. We still are giving up way to many yards on first down.

Ok…a few observations during the game, Big Dawg Bone or Steak awards.

“Barbie” Carpenter…(Bone) Did see him on the field jumping around after a good play.

Damarcus Ware – (Steak) still a monster, 3 sacks.

Offensive Line – (Steak) 3rd week in a row they looked good.

Ellis, Ware, James, Tank – (Steak & Bone) The Turkey dance after all 4 combined for 7 sacks…I actually thought it was pretty funny…but after seeing and hearing comments from all the media I guess I will change my mind.  No…it was still funny!
Special Teams – (Steak) For not being noticeable good or bad.

Bradie James – (Steak) wow…2 negative plays in one game…big improvement.

Romo – (Steak) Overall well played and orchestrated game.

Jason Witten – (Steak) Starting to see the old Witten.

A little Seattle Love

Julius Jones – (Steak) Thanks for showing us what we are or actually are not missing.

Can’t recall to many bones this game.

Cowboys show some life against the 49er’s

26 11 2008

49ers_small_logo49er’s 22 – Cowboys 35dallas

Wasn’t too far off my prediction of San Francisco 17 – Dallas 31, makes me feel a little better after totally messing up the OU – Tech prediction. For the 5th time this year game time fell on a day at the fire station. Always fun to watch the game around a bunch of football fanatics.

All and all it was a decent game, offense started out a little sluggish but this defense stepped up and made a few good stops only allowing the 49er’s to get a few field goals. So funny to see Wade getting excited and pumping his fist when something good happens. I bet he is really fun to hang around…still not feeling the love for him as a coach still way to many undisciplined plays.

Ok…a few observations during the game, Big Dawg Bone or Steak awards.

“Barbie” Carpenter…(Bone) hurt.

Damarcus Ware – (Steak) still a monster.

Offensive Line – (Steak) 2nd week in a row they looked good. Of course Romo will make any line look good by scrambling.

Nick Folk – (Bone) How can you be so accurate on Field goals and shank a kickoff out of bounds giving up field position.
Special Teams – (Bone) Good at times but again gave up to many return yards.

Anthony Henry – (Steak) Nice pick at a nice time, maybe will help with confidence.

Flozell Adams – (Bone) For getting a penalty on the play after a defensive penalty…

TO – (Steak) 7 catches for 213 yards…we finally got to eat some popcorn that we have had ready all year. Was pretty funny when he missed that one catch though.

Jason Witten – (Steak) For still playing with a broken rib…and getting smacked in the jaw and going back in…dude you rock even after getting rocked.

Not to many bones this game.

Cowboys survive, both in DC and Playoff hopes!

20 11 2008

dallasCowboys 14 – Washington 10washingtonredskins_logo

Did not get to watch the game Sunday due to heading back from Austin after seeing my beautiful grand daughter. Still I managed to catch the game on the radio, unfortunately the only thing that would come in during the first half was John Madden and Al Michaels. Wow…that had to be the worse radio announcing I have ever heard. They hardly talk about the plays going on like “Barber around the end past the 40 to the 45 oh what a tackle” it is more like “Barber runs with the ball, can you believe how good he is doing, 1st down for Dallas”. On TV you could care less because you can see and don’t care what they say, but not on the radio.

Ok…a few observations during the game, Big Dawg Bone or Steak awards.

“Barbie” Carpenter…(bone) hurt.

Damarcus Ware – (Steak) Just a monster.

Jay Ratliff – (Steak) 2 sacks and one came at a crucial time when the Cowboys needed a stop. Good to see some extra pressure since Damarcus still getting double teamed.

Offensive Line – (Steak) Stepping up and pushing back when needed, controlled the line during the run…still have to watch those penalties.

Special Teams – (Bone) Giving up to many return yards, especially right before the half giving Washington a field goal to go up by 3 at half time.

Terrance Newman – (Steak) Blanketed Moss who usually is a Cowboy killer, had a timely interception. Stay Healthy!

Tony Romo – (Bone) Throwing 2 interceptions that ended some good drives that could have strangled Washington.

Tony Romo – (Steak) Coming in an knocking the rust of and sustaining some good drives. Seeing the confidence you bring to the rest of the offense.

Marian Barber – (Steak) A freak in running shoes…good to see him fired up like in games past. Like they say “keep handing off till they stop you”

Jason Witten – (Steak) For still playing with a broken rib…

Hard to give out to many Bones since I could only hear and not see.

Adam Jones Reinstated but probably not back till Pittsburgh.

Felix Jones practicing but probably wont play this weekend, wanting to give him extra time to heal hamstring.
